Orlando, FL – On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the HAPBWA Foundation successfully celebrated the Grand Opening of the Hispanic Heritage Exhibition at the Citrus Girl Scouts headquarters in Orlando. The event began at 6:00 PM and featured an hour of cocktails, a documentary screening about the foundation’s history, and an emotional ribbon-cutting ceremony, among other highlights.
During the evening, attendees enjoyed live music and art, along with a delightful selection of appetizers inspired by various Hispanic cuisines. Local men and women were recognized for their impact on the Hispanic community, with MC Sami Haiman-Marrero hosting the awards. The event also saw the attendance of numerous local personalities and political figures.
A highlight of the night was the official presentation of the documentary about the origins of the HAPBWA Foundation, directed by Nelson, artistically known as Teto Dice. Several of the original founders of the organization were also present to celebrate this significant milestone.
About the Exhibition
The Hispanic Heritage Exhibition will be open to the public for nearly two months, free of charge, from Monday to Thursday, 9 AM to 6 PM. This exhibit offers an in-depth exploration of Hispanic history in the United States, highlighting the contributions of prominent Hispanic women from all Spanish-speaking countries. The exhibition traces the journey of Hispanics from the formation of Spain, through the colonial period, to current immigration trends and the key roles they play in American society.
Event Highlights
The inauguration event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local figures and media coverage. The evening featured a cocktail reception sponsored by key partners and the notable participation of local women honored for their contributions to advancing Hispanic women in society. The launch of the documentary about the Foundation, directed by Teto Dice, was a pivotal moment of the night.
